Signal transducer and activator of transcription 1 (STAT1) is a transcription factor in the JAK/STAT signaling pathway that mediates the effects of interferons and is involved in regulating the immune response, cell differentiation, apoptosis, and inflammation. The STAT1 luciferase reporter vector is designed to study the transcriptional activity of STAT1. The vector contains a STAT1 DNA consensus binding site and TA minimal promoter upstream of a firefly luciferase reporter gene, which can specifically report STAT1 activity while maintaining a low basal level of transcription.
