GATA transcription factors are a family of zinc finger proteins that bind to the GATA sequence and play essential roles in the regulation of gene expression during development, cell differentiation, and immune responses. The GATA luciferase reporter vector is designed to study the transcriptional activity of GATA. The vector contains a GATA DNA consensus binding site and TA minimal promoter upstream of a firefly luciferase reporter gene, which can specifically report GATA activity while maintaining a low basal level of transcription.
The inclusion of a neomycin resistance gene in the vector allows it to be used for stable cell line selection. In addition, the vector also has a GFP-tag which can be used to monitor transfection efficiency. A map of the vector can be found in the product's image gallery.
