BRN3 is a member of the POU-domain family of transcription factors, and is involved in the regulation of various biological processes, including neural development, neuronal differentiation, neurogenesis, and sensory system development. The BRN3 luciferase reporter vector is designed to study the transcriptional activity of BRN3. The vector contains a BRN3 DNA consensus binding site and TA minimal promoter upstream of a firefly luciferase reporter gene, which can specifically report BRN3 activity while maintaining a low basal level of transcription.
The inclusion of a neomycin resistance gene in the vector allows it to be used for stable cell line selection. In addition, the vector also has a GFP-tag which can be used to monitor transfection efficiency. A map of the vector can be found in the product's image gallery.
